Reviews :

One of those dates where everyone's locked in, the swing never falters, and the recording is impeccable. Sadly, Transition Records' short life meant that WATKINS AT LARGE first wallowed in obscurity, then in decades of cratedigger "graildom" where VG vinyl copies of the 1957 original would fetch well over $600. The 2000 Rudy Van Gelder reissue was the best way to listen to this music until the 2024 Blue Note Tone Poet vinyl remaster/reissue by Kevin Gray." Allmusic Review by Jason Bentley
