Reviews :
"Originally released as a 12" mini-album, What We Do Is Secret did much to propagate the myth of Darby Crash and the Germs on release in 1981 (especially in Europe). It's a companion volume to the (superior) (GI), featuring a version of Chuck Berry's "Round and Round" recorded in 1977, live tracks recorded through 1980 and a (GI) out-take. Everything the Germs did was messy, and this collection is no different. But that's half the appeal of the band, and fans will makes allowances for it." AllMusic Review by Alex Ogg
